In the heart of the Mediterranean

Behind every fragrance lies a story. Behind the new Light Blue Eau de Parfum is a dialogue between creativity, nature and craftsmanship.

A dialogue born from the encounter between some of the world’s most celebrated master perfumers, the excellence of Italian raw materials, and the expertise of those who have safeguarded the Mediterranean’s citrus heritage for generations.

For the creation of these new fragrances, Dolce&Gabbana Beauty partnered with Capua 1880, a family-owned company that has been selecting and processing citrus fruits from Calabria and Sicily for over a century. This collaboration is rooted in a shared commitment to quality, the promotion of Italian territories, and a strong focus on agricultural practices that help preserve the natural resources from which these precious ingredients originate.

Raw materials as a source of inspiration

For renowned master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Alberto Morillas, the creation of a fragrance always begins with a raw material capable of evoking emotion.

In the case of Light Blue Eau de Parfum, that emotion comes to life through Italian citrus fruits: lemon and mandarin, carefully selected for their quality, intensity and freshness.

Lemon, Olivier Cresp’s signature ingredient, renews the connection with the fragrance’s iconic identity. Fresh, radiant and vibrant, it embodies the most authentic essence of the Mediterranean.

For Alberto Morillas, it is the Calabrian yellow mandarin that forms the heart of Light Blue Pour Homme Eau de Parfum, thanks to its exceptional quality and rich aromatic profile.

Through their creative vision, these ingredients are transformed into olfactory landscapes that evoke the light and vitality of the Mediterranean.

Excellence begins in the fields

To ensure maximum freshness and olfactory intensity, the time between harvesting and processing the citrus fruits is reduced to just a few hours — a crucial step that helps preserve their aromatic qualities and the integrity of their essential oils.

Capua 1880 works closely with local farmers, promoting practices aimed at supporting crop quality and strengthening the resilience of agricultural ecosystems.

These include the use of precision irrigation systems to optimise water resources, dedicated areas for the natural growth of vegetation, and agronomic practices focused on maintaining soil fertility.

This approach combines specialist expertise, technological innovation and deep knowledge of the territory. From selecting citrus varieties to identifying the optimal harvest moment, every stage is carefully designed to enhance the fruit’s olfactory and aromatic properties.

A heritage looking towards the future

For more than five generations, Capua 1880 has preserved and enhanced Italy’s citrus excellence by combining tradition, innovation and craftsmanship. A vision shared by Dolce&Gabbana Beauty, which celebrates the richness of Italian territories and the expertise that makes them unique.

From this encounter come the new Light Blue Eaux de Parfum: olfactory creations that capture the luminosity of Mediterranean citrus fruits and enhance their authentic character.
