Believing in the importance of education and wanting to support the development of young talent, Dolce&Gabbana is offering scholarships to outstanding students at the MedTec School. This innovative degree program at Humanitas University combines medical expertise with the latest engineering technologies, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano.

CORONAVIRUS: TOGETHER FOR RESEARCH

Dolce&Gabbana is contributing to the fight against the Coronavirus by making a donation to Humanitas University, supporting a study led by Professor Mantovani aimed at understanding the immune system’s response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The research is conducted in collaboration with virologists Elisa Vicenzi and Massimo Clementi from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. The goal is to lay the groundwork for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, helping to address a global issue.

AMORE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Dolce&Gabbana continues its support for scientific research in partnership with Humanitas University through the ‘AMORE for SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH’ project. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the iconic Devotion bag on the Dolce&Gabbana online store—featured in an advertising campaign with actress Sofia Vergara—will be donated to this important cause.

The #DGFATTOINCASA project conveys a message of solidarity and connection, reflecting the brand’s deep Italian roots. Artists and artisans share personal content filmed on their smartphones, showcasing their creations and celebrating the beauty and craftsmanship of Made in Italy. This initiative also supports the ‘AMORE for SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH’ project in collaboration with Humanitas University. Featuring contributions from artists like Sofia Vergara, Helen Mirren, Davido, Bianca Balti, and Tiziano Ferro, the project is further backed by Intesa Sanpaolo through the crowdfunding platform Forfunding.it.

Humanitas University in Milan hosts the Dolce&Gabbana Men’s Spring Summer 2021 Fashion Show, accompanied by a musical performance by Il Volo. The event strengthens the connection with Humanitas’ center of excellence.

DOLCE&GABBANA LOVE FOR OTHERS

In 2021, Dolce&Gabbana created the “Love for Others” t-shirt, a special edition given to the volunteers and staff at Humanitas who played a key role in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication. The t-shirts were also available for purchase on Humanitas’ digital platforms in exchange for a donation. In January 2025, the t-shirt made a return as a symbol of solidarity, showing support not only for those who suffer but also for those working tirelessly to find new therapeutic and surgical solutions.

HUMANITAS UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Dolce&Gabbana reaffirms its commitment to Humanitas University. In 2023, the scholarship provided through the project was awarded to a young Afghan medical student. Thanks to the support of Dolce&Gabbana and Humanitas, she can continue her education in Italy and enroll in the third-year courses at the University’s Faculty of Medicine.

A training program for young fashion talents

In 2022, Dolce&Gabbana, in collaboration with ACOF, a non-profit organization specialized in training for the textile and clothing sector, launched an innovative professional training program called “IFTS Product Industrialization, Times & Methods, and Process Mapping”. The six-month program is designed for young people between eighteen and twenty-five years of age, with the aim of qualifying them as highly specialized technical figures in the production cycle of clothing collections.

 

 

An innovative approach: combined apprenticeship

 

The course stands out for its approach based on combined apprenticeship. This method combines theoretical teaching by qualified Dolce&Gabbana instructors with practical experience through a work contract. Students not only learn fundamental and advanced industry concepts, but also have the opportunity to directly apply this knowledge in a real work environment.

 

 

Program’s goals

 

The main objective of this program is to provide participants with the technical and professional knowledge and skills necessary to operate effectively within the production cycle of clothing collections. This includes an in-depth understanding of production times and methods, as well as process mapping techniques, which are essential for optimizing production processes.
Dolce&Gabbana and ACOF aim to promote qualified employment for young participants. Upon completion of the course, these young talents will be prepared to enter the job world with a set of market-demanded skills, making them ideal candidates for technical roles within industry’s companies.

In 2023, Dolce&Gabbana partnered with FAI (The National Trust for Italy) to support the protection of Italy’s beauty and heritage, combining shared values such as Italian identity, culture, tradition, education, and beauty.

 

During Milan Design Week, this collaboration highlighted the brand’s strong ties to Italian culture and craftsmanship, with installations that transformed the brand’s city Boutique windows and several sites of the Foundation into tributes to the extraordinary richness of Italy’s landscape.

 

Moreover, the brand curated an evocative narrative using videos and images featuring the cherished FAI locations in the Virtual Room of the Dolce&Gabbana Casa store at Corso Venezia 7.

Conceived 23 years ago in Busto Arsizio, Piccolo Principe Onlus has emerged as a sanctuary for minors removed from their families. Led by President Patrizia Corbo, the cooperative’s recent addition, La Cittadella, redefines the concept of a clinical centre. This haven will offer workshops spanning horticulture to sewing, fostering skills and passions among its residents.

 

In collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana, Cittadella dei Ragazzi extends its reach, central to which are innovative workshops, among them sewing workshops. This collaborative effort aims to empower vulnerable youth by providing comprehensive support, including clinical therapy and vocational training. At the “Changemakers in Luxury Fashion” event, organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) and Zalando, Alfonso Dolce, CEO of Dolce&Gabbana, received recognition as a “changemaker” in the “Craftsmanship” category.

At the event, which took place at the Biblioteca Braidense di Brera in Milan and was attended by Carlo Capasa, the president of CNMI, David Schneider, the co-CEO of Zalando, and leading visionaries in Italian and international fashion, Alfonso Dolce, CEO of Dolce&Gabbana, shared his vision for craftsmanship in his acceptance speech. He spoke about the initiatives implemented to promote artisanal skills and their transmission to the next generation.

Dolce&Gabbana and Ca’ Foscari collaborate on a new innovative educational initiative

Ca’ Foscari University and Dolce&Gabbana join forces in an initiative that will involve thirty students from the Venetian university: the CLab entitled “DG Cross-Cultural Awareness & Expertise” begins today, May 24th.

This lab will focus on intercultural communication, in which the students will be divided into groups and asked to develop concrete proposals with the assistance of lecturers, tutors, and mentors.

Students will investigate subjects such as social and environmental responsibility, as well as intercultural communication, while actively engaging in the creation of innovative projects based on real-world challenges. They will use their imagination and project-based approach like Design Thinking and the Business Model Canvas.

 

The “DG Cross-Cultural Awareness & Expertise” programme aims to provide students with an innovative educational experience, allowing them to face real-world challenges. Additionally, it seeks to foster collaboration between Ca’ Foscari and Dolce&Gabbana, with the goal of improving the innovation process through creativity and interdisciplinary approaches, at the same time as nurturing new ideas and solutions based on the proposed challenges, and discovering and nurturing young talent.

Among all the projects developed during the workshop, the most deserving group will be selected and honoured at a planned event in autumn.

CLab – Ca’ Foscari Active Learning Labs are projects focused on innovative teaching, carried out in collaboration with local and national organisations. Through active learning laboratories, they hope to create a culture of sustainability, creativity, and hands-on learning. Furthermore, they aim to stimulate cross-disciplinary collaboration and experiment with innovative learning approaches.

Zero Waste Approach

A new green step for Dolce&Gabbana. The company has founded, together with five other luxury brands in the fashion industry, the Re.Crea Consortium.

The project, coordinated by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, aims to manage end-of-life textiles, fashion products and promote the research and development of innovative recycling solutions.

The Consortium intends to respond in a timely manner to the European directive on ‘Extended Producer Responsibility for Textile Waste (EPR)’ and the implementation of such legislation nationally, which is currently being developed and coordinated by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

The Consortium is also evaluating partnerships with Italian experts in the fields of production, research and development as well as with international academic institutions specialised in sustainability and innovation research. Such as, DTech Lab, an innovation centre at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, ‘Silklab’, an interdisciplinary research laboratory at Tufts University in Boston and the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence in Boston.
