WASTE MANAGEMENT
Dolce&Gabbana is committed to waste reduction through responsible raw material consumption and optimized production practices. In the 2025 fiscal year, the Group generated 2.114 tons of waste, 13% less than the year before, nearly half of which consisted of wastewater from internal fabric printing processes. The partial in-house management of printing has enabled greater qualitative control over waste handling and disposal.
Excluding wastewater, 99.6% of waste is directed towards recovery, with only 0.3% classified as hazardous. All waste is managed by authorized disposal providers subject to stringent environmental and social audits.
The sustainability journey includes significant steps to reduce waste generation across facilities, stores, and at the consumer level. A concrete example is the set of guidelines developed for lower-impact packaging, based on the principles of Reduction, Recovery, Reuse, and Recycling.
Recovery initiatives in the Apparel line
In 2023, Dolce&Gabbana launched DG Recover, a program focused on recovering raw materials and unsold garments, with the goal of giving them new life and promoting a circular economy. Leveraging in-house tailoring expertise, the project aims to reduce the use of virgin raw materials by enhancing the value of already available resources. Thanks to this upcycling initiative, over 5 tons of fabrics and linings and more than 10.000 garments were recovered during the 2025 fiscal year. In addition to the recovery initiative, and with a view to minimizing waste and maximizing material value, Dolce&Gabbana introduced innovative and automated cutting machines, which eliminated the use of paper in this production phase.
Recovery initiatives in the Leather Goods & Footwear line
In collaboration with a supplier from the Tuscan industrial district, Dolce&Gabbana launched a recovery program for end-of-life products and industrial waste, with the goal of regenerating and reintegrating materials into new collections or production cycles. During the 2025 fiscal year, over 20 tons of plastic molds were regenerated and reintroduced into production cycles.
Recovery initiatives in the Jewelry & Watches line
The in-house atelier recovers materials from out-of-collection jewelry and watches. Precious metals, such as gold, are refined and reintroduced into production in their pure state.
WATER
Dolce&Gabbana is aware of the fashion industry’s impact on water consumption and is committed to the responsible use of this vital resource. The company strictly complies with regulations on water use and discharge, and actively monitors water withdrawals by assessing water-related risks across its production sites using the Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas.
In the 2025 fiscal year, water withdrawals for production sites in Italy amounted to 24,422 m³, with none of these withdrawals occurring in areas classified as high water risk.
Circular Packaging: Refillable Beauty Products
With the aim of strengthening its commitment to sustainable and reusable packaging solutions, Dolce & Gabbana has introduced a range of refillable fragrances, make-up, and skincare products, including Devotion Eau de Parfum Refillable, Q Eau de Parfum Refillable, and the Refillable Everfull XL mascara. These products are designed to be easily refilled with large-format bottles and simplified packaging, significantly reducing material usage.
