Dolce&Gabbana and Blue Marine Foundation
The brand’s commitment to protecting biodiversity and the most vulnerable species in the Mediterranean
Dolce&Gabbana is proud to support Blue Marine Foundation, a charity dedicated to marine conservation, in a project based in Italy aimed at protecting some of the Mediterranean’s most endangered habitats and species.
Blue Marine is a UK-based charity, founded in 2010, dedicated to the conservation of marine ecosystems. The charity is supported by Theo James, the face of Dolce&Gabbana’s new Light Blue campaign and its mission is to protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 by promoting sustainable use of the ocean, restoring biodiversity and supporting coastal communities.
With more than 60 active projects across 27 countries, the charity collaborates closely with local communities, partners, and governments to ensure future generations inherit a healthier ocean that positively impacts both the climate and human life.
Blue Marine’s project, which is supported by Dolce&Gabbana, focuses on helping Italy reach its 30 by 30 target by supporting the expansion and management of six marine protected areas across Italy.
Blue Marine has been working in Italy for years to lay the groundwork to ensure the project’s success by securing access to key areas and building trust with local partners.
The project offers a tangible opportunity to protect the fragile biodiversity of the Mediterranean. Dolce&Gabbana’s commitment to supporting this initiative stems from a desire to actively contribute to the preservation of Italy’s natural beauty, a value deeply embedded in the brand’s vision and philosophy.
